It is a full blown computer, with Linux at its core and with 4 USB ports and display port. It is a very versatile and efficient device with a tiny footprint for such a powerful computer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Raspberry Pi<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Help:IPA\/English\">\/pa\u026a\/<\/a>) is a series of small\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Single-board_computer\">single-board computers<\/a>\u00a0(SBCs) developed in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_Kingdom\">United Kingdom<\/a>\u00a0by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi_Foundation\">Raspberry Pi Foundation<\/a>\u00a0in association with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Broadcom_Inc.\">Broadcom<\/a>.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi#cite_note-14\">[14]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The Raspberry Pi project originally leaned towards the promotion of teaching basic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Computer_science\">computer science<\/a>\u00a0in schools and in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Developing_countries\">developing countries<\/a>.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi#cite_note-15\">[15]<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi#cite_note-16\">[16]<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi#cite_note-17\">[17]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The original model became more popular than anticipated,<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi#cite_note-1000x-18\">[18]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0selling outside its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Target_market\">target market<\/a>\u00a0for uses such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robotics\">robotics<\/a>. It is widely used in many areas, such as for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Automatic_weather_station\">weather monitoring<\/a>,<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raspberry_Pi#cite_note-19\">[19]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0because of its low cost, modularity, and open design. In fact, its capabilities far outshine ESP32 or Arduino, but on the other hand, it is overkill for some projects. But as always, the project comes first, and the tools for making it into reality are selected by the needs of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raspberries come in a vast array of different models, but the PI3 shown above is the most widely used version. It has a MicroSD reader on the bottom, so it can be given the appropriate capacity of memory.
